| Peter Barnes is a Fellow of the Business Continuity Institute.
|
| He is a specialist in business continuity management who is recognised throughout the world through his many years as General Manager and International Operations Director of Survive! The Business Continuity Group.
|
| He further developed his abilities in the application of BCP through a wide variety of consulting engagements at PricewaterhouseCoopers where he lead the UK BCP team until November 2001 prior to establishing 2C Consulting Ltd.
|
| Through his role at Survive, Peter played a key role in the development and formation of the Business Continuity Institute which went on to become the recognised professional certification body for the world-wide business continuity and disaster recovery profession. He has also contributed or participated in a number of forums developing business continuity standards
and codes of practice in the UK, USA and Australia.

| Peter’s recent assignments have included:

 | Defining strategy and leading the delivery of an ongoing programme of disaster recovery / business continuity testing within one of the major European institutions

| Development and delivery of a series of workshops to expand the knowledge and familiarity with the market of a team of BCP consultants

| Development and implementation of a new business continuity plan for a UK regional development agency

| Development and implementation of a new business continuity plan for a high profile mutual insurance society and management of BCP obligations undertaken on their behalf through third party service providers;

| Design and implementation of Business Continuity plans for a European commercial bank;
|
| Development of a risk framework followed by design and implementation of business continuity and disaster recovery plans for a leading British voluntary sector organisation;
|
| Development of a risk management framework for a leading defence contractor seeking to demonstrate compliance to Turnbull guidelines;
|
| Wide-ranging risk reviews and audits of risk management strategies for a number of organisations in the services and manufacturing sectors; and
|
| Programme Contingency Planning for a UK Government department going through a major change programme.

| Peter is joint editor of “The Definitive Handbook of Business Continuity Management” (Pub. J Wiley & Sons, May 2001).

| His numerous contributions to business journals and publications include

Peter’s media activities include contributions as business continuity expert to features broadcast on the BBC, EBN (European Business Network), ABN (Asia Business Network), SKY News, BBC Learning Zone plus radio interviews with Independent Radio News, Classic FM, Heart 106FM, Capital Radio and BBC Radio Belfast.
